Welcome from Stephen Briers, editor-in-chief, Fleet News
This session will provide an overview into the importance of a national charging infrastructure, and look at the investment and support that is necessary to achieve the Government’s decarbonisation objectives and for UK business to accelerate the change to electric across their car, van and truck fleets.
Oxford City Council will trial a zero emission zone this summer ahead of similar actions expected to be taken by other city authorities. This session will look at how the zone will impact on businesses and the policies the council is putting in place to assist a transition to electric, including installing the UK's biggest and most powerful charging station and a network of public charge points.
Discussing the work of the EV Energy Taskforce as it aims to drive action in the electric transition to deliver net zero. Looking at the current network strengths and weaknesses, what needs to happen in terms of infrastructure and incentives to further drive uptake of electric vehicles among UK business.
While electrification is only one of a multitude of challenges facing fleets, it can impact the others – if it’s done right. A lot of questions come down to cost; not just the cost of the infrastructure and the cost of power, but also the cost of every mile and the cost of every minute – for businesses, their employees, and their vehicles. This session will discuss what is required to harness the power of the EV charging ecosystem and unlock the potential of their electric fleets.
Opportunity for delegates to put questions to our live panel.
